The sooner the better, especially during peak season (December through April) and around holidays. Our boats are small and trips fill up fast. That said, if you’re already in town and feeling spontaneous, go ahead and call — we’ll do our best to fit you in.

We ask for 24 hours notice to cancel or reschedule without a fee. Cancellations inside that window are non-refundable. If we have to cancel due to weather or unsafe conditions, you’ll get a full refund or the option to reschedule — your call.

Our private charters are priced per boat, not per person — so whether it’s just you and your partner or a group of six, the rate’s the same. Tours like the Dolphin Watch & Snorkel and Sushi & Sunset Cruise are priced per person.

Nope. Our captains and crew work hard to show you a great time, and tips are always appreciated but never required. Industry standard is 15–20% if you had a good time.

Every charter comes with bottled water, ice, a cooler, sanitized snorkel gear, professional instruction, and our floating lilypad for maximum relaxation. All you need to bring is your crew, your snacks, and your sense of adventure.

Sunscreen (reef-safe, please — we love our reefs), a hat, sunglasses, your own towels, and whatever food and drinks you want. Yes, you can bring beer and cocktails. No, no glass bottles please — cans and plastic only. A waterproof phone case is a good call if you want pictures.

Absolutely — pack it up and bring it on. The cooler’s already stocked with ice. Just keep glass off the boat.

All our boats are docked at Garrison Bight Marina in Key West. We’ll send you the exact slip and check-in details when you book.

You bet. Barefoot Charters is family-friendly and kids love it. Little ones will need a properly fitting life jacket — we carry child sizes on board.

Well-behaved pups are welcome on private charters (not on shared tours). Just let us know when you book so the captain’s expecting a furry passenger.

Our boats have a low step-on from the dock and open deck space, which works for a lot of guests. That said, marine environments have their limits. Give us a call at (305) 900-3088 before booking and we’ll walk you through what to expect so you can decide what works.

Safety first, always. If conditions aren’t safe, your captain will make the call to cancel or reshuffle. You’ll get a full refund or a reschedule — whichever you prefer. A little cloud cover or a passing shower, though? That’s just Key West. We’ll usually run right through it.

Every one of our captains holds a U.S. Coast Guard license and knows these waters inside and out. Barefoot Charters is fully licensed and insured, and our boats are Coast Guard inspected and equipped with all required safety gear. You’re in good hands.

Nope. Our crew provides professional snorkel instruction, and life vests are available for anyone who wants one. Plenty of guests just hang out on the boat or the lilypad and enjoy the ride — there’s no pressure to get in the water if that’s not your thing.
